Simulation in medicine.

Abstract

The simulation medicine is mainly concerned with the factor of "Human Factors". This term, the so-called "human factor" it is considered as a collective term for all mental, cognitive and social factors in socio-technical, and human-machine systems. Investigations also revealed that deaths were due to "preventable error" in more than 80%. Root cause analysis in anesthesia showed that up to 70% of incidents are theoretically preventable. The literature fluctuates in various fields between 70 to 85% "preventable error". This is an impressive numbers with a clear need for action.
